Eclipse of Eldergaard Is Now Live

After months of iteration, experimentation, and learning, Black Scar Studio is proud to announce that Eclipse of Eldergaard is officially live on Steam.

This project began as a small personal experiment, an attempt to understand combat systems, atmosphere, and narrative design at a deeper level. Over time, it evolved into a complete dark fantasy experience shaped by constant testing, feedback, and refinement.

Eclipse of Eldergaard is not an open-world sandbox. It’s a time-bound, task-driven action RPG where every decision matters. The world moves forward whether the player is ready or not. Failure to complete objectives within the given time and the final consequences. That pressure is intentional; it’s central to the game’s identity.

The game focuses on:

• Fast, responsive combat

• A heavy, oppressive atmosphere

• A narrative told through fragments, environments, and choices

• A world that rewards curiosity but does not explain itself easily

Alongside the game, we’re also developing a companion book that explores the origins and unseen past of the world, written for players who enjoy lore, slow storytelling, and deeper context beyond gameplay. The book will be free to read when released.

As an independent studio, this launch isn’t the end, it’s the foundation. There is still room to improve, expand, and evolve based on how players engage with the game.
